First of all a massive thankyou to everyone who has participated in my giveaway all the wonderful comments and considered answers to my question :)

323 entries just blew me away! I asked a question that I do not really know the answer to in the hopes that I could crowdsource an answer.. it is something I have pondered many times and now I know that all your great answers have resulted in...

So it seems that the crowdsourced answer is DOG, although yes, it would depend on the type of dog, the distance the race was over and countless other variables, one day soon I hope that I can put this to the test ;)
